Jacklyn Morvant and Jayden Hughes are 8th graders attending JB Martin who reside in Bayou Gauche.
The two longtime friends helped propel the LA 6 U-14 Travel Volleyball team to the championship of the Napoleonville Regional Volleyball tournament earlier this month. They have been key players on a team that has placed in the top 5 of four other major tournaments, including a runner-up finish. LA 6 coach Tina Breaux said of the two, “I’ve inherited two special players in Jacklyn and Jayden. With the help of these two girls we’ve had our best year so far. I hope they continue their journey with volleyball.” Morvant, 14, is a middle blocker and Hughes, 13, is an outside hitter.
