It was heartbreak in Bossier City for Hahnville, which saw its season come to an end in overtime.

No. 6 Parkway made a defensive stand in overtime, stopping No. 11 Hahnville on four plays from inside the PHS 5-yard line to seal a 37-31 victory in the second round of the Division I non-select playoffs.

Parkway advances to face No. 14 Ouachita Parish in the quarterfinal round.

Parkway (11-1) scored to start overtime on a pass from Kaleb Williams to tight end Draidyn Davis; but the point after attempt was no good, giving Hahnville a chance to win with a touchdown and an extra point.

The Tigers (9-3) started their possession at the Parkway 10-yard-line and Landen Teague’s pass in the flat on first down fell incomplete after a drop – but Parkway was flagged for a late hit on Celestine and that set Hahnville up for 2nd and goal from the 5-yard line. A run went for no gain and on third down, a second dropped pass on the series set up a 4th down with the game on the line. Teague’s fourth down pass fell incomplete and the home team celebration was on.

Parkway led Hahnville 17-14 at halftime.

Hahnville took the lead early in the third quarter after Carter Burns recovered a Parkway fumble and returned it to the Parkway 29. A Teague pass to Fabien Celestine pushed the ball to the 13-yard-line, then a Teague rollout saw him find Aaron Williams for the score to make it 21-17.

Hahnville added to that lead after a sack and forced fumble – the scoop and score for the Tigers made it a 28-17 Hahnville lead.

A big Williams run on Parkway’s ensuing drive set the Panthers up at the goal line, and Parkway’s Braxton Black punched it in to make it 28-23. The conversion attempt was no good.

Black scored again in the fourth quarter to give Parkway a 29-28 lead, and the Panthers converted the 2 to make it 31-28.

Teague found Aaron Williams for a big third down conversion to set Hahnville up in Parkway territory. Hahnville marched inside the 10, but Parkway’s defense stiffened and forced a Myles Borey field goal attempt – Borey made the kick to tie things up.

Chaos broke loose over the final minute of play.

Hahnville forced a Parkway punt with 1:09 left in regulation. Teague passed on second down, but a ball deflected off the hands of his receiver and the ball was intercepted by the Panthers’ Cam Hinds at the 50. Antonio Gladney made a big gain down to the Hahnville 20. But on 2nd and 10, Hahnville pressured Williams into an interception with just nine seconds left to play, forcing overtime.
