Arrests
•John Balma, 38, of 912 Indiana Ave., Cheboygan, WI was arrest on Aug. 28 on U.S. 90 at Myrtle and charged with possession of a schedule two controlled dangerous substance (crack cocaine). The above subject was stopped for suspicious person and further investigation revealed Balma to be in possession of crack cocaine.

•Onile Bourg, 71, of 228 Megan St., Luling, was arrested on Aug. 29 at the above address and charged with cruelty to animals (aggravated) and on a fugitive charge for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.  The above subject was arrested after  allegedly cutting a small mix breed dog with a kitchen knife causing an approximate one inch laceration on the dog’s left side.

•Tarell Sandolph, 31, of 200 Boutte Estates Dr., Apt. 238, Boutte was arrested on Aug. 25 and charged with second degree cruelty to a juvenile.  The subject was arrested on a warrant that was issued on Aug. 25.  On July 21, Sandolph brought her 2-month-old daughter to St. Charles Parish Hospital with an injured left arm and a bruise on her face.  X-rays revealed that the infant had a fractured arm.  The subject was unable to explain how her daughter sustained the injuries.

•Gordon W. Holmes, 21, of 5061 LA 3127 in Killona was arrested with a warrant issued by the Louisiana State Police on Aug. 30 at the above address and charged with not registering as a sex offender with the Louisiana State Police Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry.  Holmes had not registered since December 2004.

•Kelly Vegas, 39, of 602 Fonda St., in Paradis was arrested at 604 Fonda St., in Paradis on Aug. 31 and charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly threatened to cut the victim after awaking him from sleep.

DWI
•Samuel Penny Jr., 35, of 60386 E. Spruce Lane, in Lacombe was arrested on Aug. 31 on I-10 west bound at milepost 220.5 in St. Rose.  The above subject was charged with his fourth DWI and reckless operation.

Theft
•A CD player, valued at $500, was stolen out of a vehicle from 100 E Club Dr. in St. Rose on Aug. 28.

•  A purse, valued at $90, was stolen out of a vechicle from 400 E. Heather Dr. in Luling on Aug. 30.

•An I-pod and a set of keys, valued at $200, was stolen out of a vehicle from 128 Braden St. in Luling on Aug. 30.

•Two DVD players, 20 DVD movies, a set of golf clubs and a set of keys were stolen from 100 Elderberry St. in Luling on Aug. 30.

•A blower, a weedeater, two metal ramps, two 5 gallon gas tanks and a lawn mower, valued at $965, were stolen from 343 Davis Dr. in Luling on Aug. 30.

•A generator, an air compressor, a vacuum cleaner and a nail gun, valued at $870, were stolen from 226 Davis Dr. in Luling on Aug. 30.

•A .45 caliber stainless steel handgun, valued at $600, was stolen from a vehicle parked at 110 James Dr. East in St. Rose on Aug. 31.
