Sheriff’s Report 5-19-2016

Arrests

  • Kelvin Nichols, 48, of 113 Devon Road in LaPlace, was arrested May 4 and charged with DWI, open container and speeding.
  • Jhiariss Sanchez, 26, of 56 Brandon Hall in Destrehan, was arrested May 7 and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile, possession of marijuana (second offense) and Schedule II possession of cocaine.
  • Joshua Williams, 28, of 3212 Crestaire Drive in Baton Rouge, was arrested May 9 and charged with DWI (second offense) and failure to maintain proper control of vehicle.
  • Willes Anderson, 64, of 771 E. Terrace St. in New Sarpy, was arrested May 4 and charged with aggravated rape.
  • Earl Maugham Jr. 23, of 139 Gordon St. in Destrehan, was arrested May 7 and charged with four counts of first degree vehicle negligent injuring and failure to maintain proper control of vehicle.
  • Jared Trosclair, 50, of 523 Goodhope St. in Norco, was arrested May 5 and charged with sexual battery.
  • Lakyron Scott, 19, of 50 Carriage Lane in Destrehan, was arrested May 9 and charged with distribution of SCH I, possession with intent to distribute SCH I and three counts of resisting an officer.
  • Leon Winsberry III, 37, of 2308 Mumphrey Road in Chalmette, was arrested May 9 and charged with theft of items up to $750 and monetary instrument abuse. He was a fugitive.
  • Kermit Major, 38, of 221 Caluda Lane of Violet, was arrested May 9 and charged with two counts of theft up to $750 and monetary instrument abuse.
  • James Frederick, 40, of 4206 Lac Du Bay St. in Harvey, was arrested May 9 and charged with two counts of principal to theft $500 and up and principal to monetary abuse. He was a fugitive.

Thefts

  • Several unlocked vehicles were burglarized in the Highland Oaks subdivision in the St. Rose area on May 6.
  • An orange in color 26-inch Genesis GX7 bicycle was stolen from the front yard of a home located on Sellers Ave. in Luling on May 6.
  • Several unlocked vehicles were burglarized on Bernard Ave. in Ama on May 6.
