SE Louisiana to have many exciting events

Anyone who lives in southeast Louisiana can take pleasure in the fact that there are so many entertaining things coming up here. In St. Charles Parish, for example, there is a wealth of wetlands for the outdoor sportsmen and mere lovers of spectacular scenery. Access to the Gulf of Mexico and some of the best fishing and hunting areas in the country is readily available whether you own a yacht or a pirogue.

But in the next few weeks, there will be much more excitement in the area than one could ever dream about.

Right next door, New Orleans has just hosted the Sugar Bowl in the Mercedes-Benz Dome between Virginia Tech and Michigan. Saturday night, the Who Dat Saints will hopefully defeat the Detroit Lions in their first playoff game for the NFC championship and the entry ticket to tackle the AFC champion in the Superbowl. On Monday night, the Mercedes-Benz Dome will be the spectacular multi-colored scene of the much awaited BCS championship rematch between LSU and Alabama. One can judge the popularity of the contest by the prices and scarcity of hotel rooms available in the region for the event.

If that’s not enough, the Super Bowl, hopefully with the Saints participating, will play in the Dome for the world’s championship in professional football.

But the fun doesn’t end there.

During the rest of the new year, there will be more excitement generating an element of extreme pleasure throughout southeast Louisiana including the Alligator and Catfish festivals right here in St. Charles and scores of theatrical and musical spectaculars in New Orleans theatres, which are becoming more numerous every year. And let us not forget the pleasure of eating delicious Cajun foods along the bayous and delicacies in the Crescent City restaurants noted for delicious foods around the world.

We’re quite fortunate to live here in St. Charles, surrounded by such lively surroundings that bring us such pleasure throughout the year.

Enjoy it in 2012. And in years to come.
