Janice Rome Vicknair

Janice Rome Vicknair, born Oct. 27, 1944 peacefully entered God’s Kingdom after a courageous battle with cancer on Nov. 18 at age of 72.

Vicknair was a homemaker, entrepreneur and data processor for Entergy and Monsanto. She taught religion at St. Anthony of Padua in Luling for nine years, and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Church Council for many years.

Vicknair was a commissioner and commissioner-in-charge in St. Charles Parish.

She was well loved and will be remembered and missed deeply by all who knew her.

Loving wife of Robert A. Vicknair for 54 years; loving mother to Jessica Vicknair, Alana Reuter (Mark), Bobbie Friloux (Ritchie), Jennifer Roux (Jamie); loving Granny to Devin Roux (Lacey), Noelle Duhe (Ashton), Alexandra Friloux, Dillon Roux, Catherine Friloux, Jaime Knowlton (Luke); daughter of the late Alfred J. Rome Sr. and Marguerite A. Rome; sister to Alfred J. Rome Jr. (Deanna), Iris Kieffer, Carol Lawson (Arthur), Candy Shiflett (Buck), and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flower donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation and Mass of Christian burial were held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Luling Nov. 22.
