Ruth Agnes Hebert Brady

Ruth Agnes Hebert Brady, 86, native of Gonzales and resident of Norco, died peacefully on the morning of Sept. 18.

A graduate of Gonzales High School, Brady also attended Rabouin School of Commercial Art in New Orleans and worked as a commercial artist for five years.

She sketched furniture graphics for Barnett Furniture Co. ads for the Times Picayune. For more than 20 years, she provided art lessons for children and adults in her home in Norco.

In 2002, Ruth Brady was named the recipient of the Angelus Award presented by the River Region Arts and Humanities Council. She appreciated fine arts, classical music and singing songs from her childhood. Along with her family, she cherished her close friends.

Brady is survived by five children, Kenneth Michael Brady of Hammond, (Laura), Charles Keith Brady of Norco, (Andrea), Timothy David Brady of Luling, (Carolyn), Elizabeth Ann Sebastian of New Orleans, and Claire Marie Landry of Des Allemands, (Brian) and by her sisters, Joyce H. Babin and Ann H. LeBlanc.

She has 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonce P. Hebert and Marguerite Lambert Hebert; husband, Joseph A. Brady Jr. and son, Brian P. Brady.

Services were held Sept. 21 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco followed by mass  and burial at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.
