Helen Chiasson Rome, 94, a native of Lafourche Crossing and resident of Luling, passed away on April 9.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Luling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery.
Chiasson is survived by her children; Mary Alice Rome Puglise (Joseph), Harold John Rome, Jr. (Marlene), Suzan Rome Bosarge (Brian), Roxane Rome Elliott; grandchildren, Veronica Milburn, Sherri Krueger, Todd J. Puglise, Scott Puglise, Sr. (Angie), Nikki R. Henning (Hamp), Anthony Rome (Susan), Sam Elliott (Marcie); great grandchildren, Joey, Marysa, Eddie, Scott Jr. (Bri), Nick, Micayla, Nelle, Hampy, Gunnar, Teddy, Abraham, Caroline, Royston and soon to arrive Ava; great-great grandchildren, Vincent and Zoey and sisters, Betty Hymel and Bernice Oubre.She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Rome Sr.; parents, Leon and Mary Weimer Chiasson; siblings, Marie Laque, Leon Chiasson, Arthur Chaisson, Pauline Chiasson, Alice Mae Palmisano, Pearl Verda, Rosemary Chiasson and Alma Dasch.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Allyson Mitchell, a long time caregiver, and the staff of Hall E of Ormond Nursing Home and St. Catherine Hospice.
