Penny Triche Cantrelle passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 49. She was the loving wife of 23 years to Casey Lee Cantrelle and devoted mother to Bethany Nicole Cantrelle.
She is survived by her father, Larry Edward Triche, Sr.; her step mother-in-law, Charmaine Horn Alario; her siblings, Pamela Triche McCarter (Burley), Patti Triche Gaubert (Gery), and Larry Edward Triche, Jr.; and her many beloved nieces and nephews: Amanda, Nicole, Ryan, Larry III “Trey,” Jade, Lily, Travis, Matthew, Derek, Dustin, as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Billson Triche; her sister, Mary Beth Triche Gaubert (Terry); and her father- and mother-in-law, Ronald Cantrelle, Sr. and Betty Newton Cantrelle.
Penny was an alumna of Nicholls State University and worked for many years as a Legal/Workers’ Compensation Liaison. She generously devoted her time to numerous organizations and causes, volunteering with the Girl Scouts, 4-H, and serving as both an educator and faith educator.
She had a deep love for the arts and especially enjoyed supporting her daughter’s theatrical journey through her involvement with River Parish Community Theatre. Penny also loved music, art, live entertainment, reading, rollercoasters, water rides, and spending time playing games and watching the Game Show Channel. Her joyful spirit, kindness, and dedication to family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation and funeral services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 401 Spruce St., Norco, LA, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan, LA.
