Ida Babin Mitchell, born Jan. 11, 1929 to the late Howard Charles and Elvire Volion Babin, passed away April 25, 2017.
Mitchell was the wife of the late Curtis Edward Mitchell, mother of Henry Mitchell (Susan), Janice Chaffin (Rocky), Ellen Mitchell (Karla), and one “son” Thomas R. Sparks Jr. (Debbra).
She was the sister of the late Hollis (Miriam), Lawrence (Jayne), Henry (Sally), Irene Babin, Alice Ashman (Ken), and Verla Sparks (Tom); grandmother of Amanda Hedden, Shawn, Kevin, Jeffery, Thomas, and Faith Mitchell, and Sonia Celis; great grandmother of Alexys, David, Alivia, Alyssa, Shawn, Savannah, Shyanne, Abigayle, Nadiyah, Ethen, Gisele, and Alexander.
She also has a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews;, and longtime companion of the late Edward “Buddy” Lambert.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norco, Bucket Brigade, Global Environment Monitoring, and Concerned Citizens. She loved music, dancing, casinos, flowers, and most of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
