Marie Matis Champagne,a life-long resident of Luling, passed on Thursday December 31, 2020. She is survived by her loving husband Horace J. Champagne, son Brian Champagne (Amanda), son Scott Champagne (Charity) and daughter Angella Marie Champagne (Brian Baio). Marie deeply loved her grandchildren Brittani Marie Corzo (Luis), Evan, James, Adam, Seth, Kaleb and Quinn Champagne. Marie has one great-granddaughter, Piper Marie Corzo.
Her passion was traveling with friends and family whom she dearly loved. Marie was retired from the accounting office of Winn Dixie where she worked for 29 years.
She is preceded in death by her father Frank Matis, mother Louise Loup Matis, and brothers Mavis “Butch” and Wayne Matis. Marie was loved by many friends, sister in laws, brother in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 234 Angus Dr., Luling, LA. Visitation will begin at 9a.m. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.
