Macklin “Maggie” St. Pierre

Macklin “Maggie” St. Pierre, 86, of Destrehan, entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2011.

She was a native of Montz and a resident of Destrehan for the past 56 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Vernon “Flappy” St. Pierre Sr. for 56 years, loving mother of V.J. St.Pierre Jr. (wife Kathleen), Sheila Livingston (husband Jim), Gail Potier (husband Russell), Donna Maitre (husband Ron), Dale “Suggie” St. Pierre, and the late Wayne St. Pierre; daughter of the late Tony and Regina Schexnaydre Petrolia, sister of the late Paul, Anthony and Sam Petrolia and Regina Petrolia Lasseigne, and devoted grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 366 Auxillary and the Red Hat Society. She started the Pink Ladies Hair Volunteer Club in 1989. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxillary, secretary president of St. Charles Parish Louisiana Volunteer Family and Community, and president of the New Sarpy Homemaker Club. She was the recipient of the J.C. Penney Volunteer Award and also volunteered at the Children’s Advocacy Center. She was also a member of Retired Volunteers for the past 21 years.

Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend visitation at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on July 4 and July 5 Mass was celebrated and interment followed at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.hcalexanderfuneralhome.com.
