Dorian Colby “Boss Hogg” Lay, 36, passed away on Monday, Dec. 29 at his home in Hahnville.
A native and a resident of Hahnville. Lay was the beloved son of Robert Lay Jr. and Kathy L. Hunter; stepson of Evelyn Sandolph and Leroy Hunter; devoted brother of Derryl Lay and Robert Lay III; grandson of Isiah Franklin Sr., Margaret Jones Lay, Ruth Franklin and Philomene Franklin; nephew of Henry Lay, Isiah Franklin Jr. (Ella), Leroy Franklin (Patricia), Don Franklin (Lenneria), Rosalie Lay-Ramsey, Betty Johnson (Bartholemew), Eula Lay, JoAnn Ingram, Paulette Lay, Annette Franklin, the late Ruby Lay Smith (Herbert) and Larry Franklin. Lay is also survived by his godparents, godchildren and a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Historic Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hahnville on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Otis Kenner, pastor of Fresh Faith Worship in Taft, officiating. Lay was interred at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Hahnville.
