George Garcia, 69, a native of Luling, LA passed away on January 7, 2021 while under the care of hospice. George is survived by his mother Alice Cavalier Garcia, brother Frank Garcia, sisters Bobbi Arceneaux and Jenny (Jim) Bacon, sons Luke Garcia and Beau Garcia, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
George was preceded in death by his father James Thomas Garcia, Sr., brothers James Thomas Garcia, Jr., and Charles “Charlie” Garcia who passed away just 12 days before George’s death.
To many, George was larger than life both in size and personality. George loved the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting and fishing. The last year of his life was spent in the nursing care of Ozark Health Nursing and Rehab in Clinton, Arkansas. The family is greatly appreciative of the care of the nurses and staff there, along with the loving care and support of his nurse, chaplain and staff of Hospice Care.
In order to accommodate the many family members and friends who cannot and should not travel, and with careful consideration of the current COVID situation, a virtual online memorial service will be held in memory of both George and Charlie on January 27, 2021 beginning at 1:00pm. To access the service, log on to either YouTube or Facebook and search Highland Park Church of Christ. The service will be conducted live at 1:00 but will remain available for others to view afterwards.
