Alvin D. “Smot” Dufrene, Sr.

Alvin D. “Smot” Dufrene, Sr., 68, of Des Allemands. entered into heavens enternal rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 22, 2007.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He truly loved the great outdoors and bayous of Louisiana. Hunting and fishing was one of his great loves. He was a devoted husband, father and most important a true child of God. He is preceded in enternal rest by his mother and father, Nelven “Duke” and Alice Dufrene and his brother Will Dufrene.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Alyne, his sisters, Genevieve, Janice and Della, his children, Sarah Rankin, Debbie Regole, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Friends and relatives were invited for visitation and prayers on Sunday, Nov. 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by funeral services at First Assembly  of God Church, 16976 Highway 90 in Des Allemands. In lieu of flowers please make donations to First Assembly of God at the above address in Alvin Dufrene’s name to be used to build mission churches in povert areas.
