William Thomas “Truman” Caire

William Thomas “Truman” Caire passed away suddenly at the age of 58 on Jan. 27.

He was born in New Orleans and raised in Edgard by his loving parents, Sharey Ethridge Caire and the late Joseph G. Caire, Sr.

Caire was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, the late Linda McCormick Caire. They lived a joyful and full life together for 20 wonderful years.  During their marriage, they lived in New Orleans, St. Louis and Annapolis, and were blessed with many dear friends and numerous young people who loved them like an uncle and aunt.

Truman (aka Bill) enjoyed a love of life centered around good food, music, friends and family.  He will be missed by all who knew him as a genuine and true friend, a true Man.

Caire is survived by his mother, Sharey Caire; four sisters, Sharey Powell (David), Virginia Baranovic (Michael), Ruth Chapin (Mark), and Linda Hargrove (Brian); two brothers, Randle Caire (Debbie), and Joseph Caire Jr (Eva); and many nieces and nephews.

Mass will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, at St. John the Baptist Church, 2361 Hwy 18, Edgard. Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb.  2 from 6-8 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans and again at St. John the Baptist Church on Friday, Feb. 3 from 9 a.m. until the time of the mass. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
