Sophie Mae Mongrue Braud, on Feb. 9, 2016, age 91, entered into eternal life at Ashton Manor Assisted Living Facility in Luling.
Braud was the loving wife of the late Allen J. Braud. She is survived by sons, Thomas (Cindy) Braud, Blane Braud, Brian (Rhonda) Braud, Gerard (Cindy) Braud; daughter, Hettie Braud Averite (Bob); two brothers, Kearney Mongrue (Jo-Ann deceased) and Leo Mongrue (Barbara deceased), 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Braud also was the beloved daughter of the late William J. Mongrue Sr. and Ernestine Marie Mongrue of Luling, and sister of the late William J. Mongrue Jr.
She as a lifelong resident of Luling and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Parish.
Visitation was held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling on Feb. 12 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and interment in St. Charles Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thomas W. Braud Medical Fund preferred.
Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland is handling arrangements.
