Terry Paul Bourg

Terry Paul Bourg, 77, of Hahnville passed away on April 9, 2018.

Terry is survived by his wife, Verina Kraemer Bourg; his son, Gaston Paul II; daughter-in-law Denise Snyder LeBauve; daughter, Giavonna Bourg Nolan; daughter and son-in-law, Verina “Nina” and Shelton F. Barrs; daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline Bourg and Ronald Francis Springer III; seven grandchildren, Rebecca “Becky” Jean Bourg, Gaston Paul Bourg III, Kayla-Cherie and her husband Travis Holter, Ryan Matthew Nolan, Dale Joseph Barrs, Dustin Thomas Barrs and Ronald “RJ” Francis Springer IV; a great-grandson, Liam Boyd Holter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Joseph Vincent Bourg, son-in-law Bradley Paul Nolan, all his siblings and several nieces and nephews.

Terry was born to parents Gaston and Clara Bourg on Nov. 6, 1940. He was the youngest of five and shared that honor with his twin brother Gary. Terry was a lifelong resident of Hahnville. He graduated from Hahnville High School as did all of his children. Terry never shied from work and held numerous jobs in his lifetime. From his first job throwing papers as a little boy on a bicycle, to the 40 years he put in at Avondale Shipyards, the time he put in running his fathers bar or the numerous paper routes he threw or pizzas he delivered, Terry never stopped working to provide for his family. In later years he dedicated his time and energy to the care of his wife. Terry, along with his wife Verina, dedicated his energies to hosting an annual St. Joseph’s Altar in his home for 25 years.

Family and friends are invited to attend services on Tuesday, April 17 at 9 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Services will be at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 1 Rectory Lane, Hahnville and burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/donate
