Bernadette Hymel Zeringue went to be with the Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 12, at the age of 94.
Beloved wife of the late Edward V. Zeringue; mother of Gloria Cancienne (the late Pete), Edward Zeringue (Andrea), Yvonne Sirmon (David), and Raymond G. Zeringue (Debbie); daughter of the late Nellie Mae Hymel and Raoul Hymel.
She was the sister of Lucille Roberts, Mary Margaret Hymel, Joseph Hymel, Paul Hymel Sr. and the late Nellie Roach, Claire Ruth, Miriam Martinez, Francis Hymel, Agnes Hymel and Albert Hymel. Sister –in-law of Noel Zeringue.
She was grandmother of Terri Reynolds, Jason Cancienne, Rebecca Matherne, Jeanne Oubre, Michelle Campo, Brock Zeringue, Scott Sirmon, Raymond Zeringue Jr., Chelsie and Thomas Zeringue.
Also, she is survived by 16 great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Zeringue was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a devout Catholic.
She loved dancing, casinos, and, most of all, her family. She will be sadly missed by all.
A native of New Orleans, she has been a resident of Luling, La., for the past 61 years.
A funeral mass was held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 234 Angus Dr. in Luling, on May 14, 2015.Visitation was held at the church.
Interment was at St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.
