Unidentified pedestrian killed in Boutte crash

An identified pedestrian was killed shortly after 4 a.m. this morning (Aug. 30) a fatal crash on U.S. Highway 90 at Third Street in Boutte.

Louisiana State Police Troop B investigated the crash that involved a pedestrian whose identification is still pending.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2006 Ford Ranger was traveling west on U.S. 90. At the same time, an unidentified pedestrian was walking in the roadway when he was struck by the Ford pick-up.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to State Police. The driver of the Ford was properly restrained and uninjured.

Impairment is not suspected and toxicology reports are pending for both the driver and pedestrian.

This crash is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
