Two charged with St. Rose kidnapping in alleged drug deal

Two people have been arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping after allegedly holding a person hostage in St. Rose to collect a $600 payment for drugs.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a May 27 call that Terrence Alonzo Polk, 36, of 630 Cumberland St., and Monique Lewis, 39, of 320 Upland St., both of River Ridge, La., were allegedly holding “the victim inside of their vehicle until the victim could pay $600 for illegal narcotics the victim had consumed,” said spokesman Cpl. James Grimaldi.

Deputies located Polk, Lewis and the victim around 6 p.m. in a parking lot on River Road and arrested Polk and Lewis, Grimaldi said.

“Everyone was ordered to exit the vehicle and everyone complied,” he said.

A family member told police that he was contacted by the victim requesting the amount of money owed for the drugs at about 3:30 p.m. that afternoon, Grimaldi said.

Polk and Lewis also were fugitives on additional charges in Jefferson Parish, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
