Stolen Haydel’s Bakery truck found in St. Charles Parish

A truck that had been reported stolen from Haydel’s Bakery was found in St. Charles Parish Friday morning.

The truck was found intact at approximately 2:45 a.m. at James Business Park in St. Rose by a security guard patrolling the area, according to the bakery’s Facebook page.  Nothing was reported missing.

Haydel’s also credited social media with aiding the search for the missing truck. Images taken via a security camera showed a man dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt approaching the truck before it was stolen early Thursday morning, and those pictures circulated on sites like Facebook and Twitter as Haydel’s asked for the public’s help to find the stolen vehicle.

Haydel’s said it will be giving $2 off of all king cake purchases Sunday (Jan. 22) at all four of its store locations between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to show appreciation for the support.

A Haydel’s representative also confirmed the security guard will receive a free king cake every week for a year: the company offered that perk as a reward for anyone who found the truck or supplied information that lead to its recovery.
