Choir students from Destrehan and Hahnville High Schools spread Christmas cheer in the community this month by singing for residents of Ashton Manor Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Students also delivered 75 poinsettias to the Ashton residents and 140 poinsettias to residents in other parish care facilities. Nearly 1,200 Christmas cards were also delivered to the residents.

The poinsettias were purchased with from money collected through the district’s employee wellness initiative. As part of the initiative, St. Charles Parish Public Schools employees can register each month to participate in a monthly walking/running event. The registration fee is then collected and used to give back to the community.
