The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has recovered the body of a 21-year-old man who jumped into Lake Pontchartrain this morning.
At 9:48 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office responded from a call from a motorist traveling on I-10 who witnessed a man exit a Honda Civic and jump over a concrete railing into the lake.
The marine division later recovered the body of 21-year-old Rene Darby III, of New Orleans, near the spot where he jumped into the water.There are no signs of foul play, however an autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
