Schools boss Rodney Lafon is NOT running for parish prez

Rumors are flying that St. Charles Parish Superintendent of schools Dr. Rodney Lafon, (right), is retiring from that position so he can run for the office of parish president to replace Albert Laque when his term expires later this year.

Even Laque has heard the talk. But it just isn’t so.

“The rumors are just that – rumors,” Rochelle Cancienne, speaking for the school system, told the Herald-Guide.

Officially in the race are V.J. St. Pierre, Clayton “Snookie” Faucheux and Chris Tregre.

In next week’s issue, Laque gives his election forecast – and picks his choice for a successor. Be here.
