Asked for help finding dog, drove off when mom arrived
A Luling mother told police that a suspicious man approached her daughter on Post Drive in Luling before speeding off when the mother appeared.
According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, a 9-year-old girl was playing in her front yard when she was approached by an unknown male driving a white four-door, older model car who asked her if she had seen a dog in the area. However, when the girl’s mother emerged from the house and called for her daughter, the driver quickly left the area.
The man is described as being a thin white male with a long white and black beard who was wearing a black shirt at the time.
Another neighbor living on the same street also said that a car approached her daughter as she was walking to a church function. Both incidents were reported to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Capt. Pat Yoes, spokesman for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, said the second incident does not seem to be related to the first.
“The description and details do not match and (the) description of the incident is conflicting. We do not think this is related,” he said.
The incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information should call Det. Clint Patterson at (985) 783-1355 of (985) 783-6807.
