PMS gets down, dirty for cancer patients

Fighting cancer is difficult enough, but living with it is even tougher – and that’s where Cherie Doyle’s professional maid service, PMS, steps in.

Doyle’s Luling-based business has joined forces with a newly-formed nonprofit organization, Cleaning for A Reason, who offers free  housecleaning services to improve the lives of women undergoing treatments for cancer.

“I was introduced to the Cleaning for A Reason Foundation through the Association of Residential Cleaning Services International,” said Doyle. “We’re all touched by cancer, and what we do for a living can make a difference in the lives of women who are suffering with this disease.”

Currently, PMS cleans the homes of three cancer patients, allowing them to spend more time with their family and friends.

“The patients are so grateful that PMS can provide a service that can allow them to get much needed rest,” added Doyle. “Our company is happy to help make women’s lives a little more normal, more comfortable while they are fighting the fight.”

Doyle says that her ultimate goal is to encourage other professional maid companies to become a part of the Cleaning for a Reason cause.

“I think that other local housecleaning companies will join once they know about this foundation, and I urge them to do so.”

Debbie Sardone, who is the CEO of Buckets & Bows Maid Service in Texas, founded Cleaning For A Reason in 2006.  In less than 12 months she has recruited over 85 companies nation wide to serve as local chapters in over 24 states.

Donations: Families and friends of cancer patients can donate funds towards additional cleaning on the foundation’s web site. Donations can also be made on the PMS web site www.KissCleaningGoodbye.com.
