Reeder is third named to the position since 2015
St. Charles Parish Hospital introduced Austin Reeder as chief executive officer (CEO) effective Feb. 8, marking the third hospital administrator named since the retirement of longtime CEO Federico Martinez in September 2015.
Reeder most recently served as vice president of service lines and operations at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie. He holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Auburn University as well as a master’s degree in public health, epidemiology and a master’s degree of health administration, both from Tulane University.
Reeder is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Reeder succeeds Ritchie Dupre, who served as CEO from May of 2016 through December.
Dupre left Ochsner in December to pursue another career opportunity, according to Ochsner spokesman Paul Loisel. Dupre was hired after the hospital’s previous CEO, Anthony DiGerolamo, was transferred to take over the CEO position at Ochsner Medical Center — West Bank, in May of last year.
Martinez served as hospital CEO for 29 years before his retirement in 2015, citing health issues.
