Erick St. Amant has announced his candidacy for St. Charles Parish councilman at large, Division A, in the Oct. 24 election.
“If elected, I will be a full-time councilman for all the citizens of St Charles Parish, serving all residents to the best of my ability,” said St. Amant, a native and resident of Norco.
“I have lived in this parish for almost all of my life, having been born and raised in Norco, and that I have many friends and relatives on both the east and west banks of the parish,” he said. “Because of this network, I am in touch with the issues on both sides of the river.”
St. Amant said he is qualified for the position as a retired businessman who worked 35 years serving the public and 10 years as assistant director of Economic Development in St. John Parish.
“I am quite experienced at working with business and industry,” he said. “I also served as a school board member of a private school for five years, which helped sharpen my troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.”
St. Amant is president and founder of The Oldies But Goodies.
“I am so proud to say that this group has helped numerous families and organizations with our charitable contributions to those in need,” he said.
Also, St. Amant said being retired will allow him “to fully focus my time on helping the council and parish president to uphold the high standards in this ‘parish of plenty’. While in office, I will continue to help move our great community in the right direction towards the best quality of life for all of our citizens.”
St. Amant said he is dedicated to making the parish an even greater place to live and raise a family.
