Bayou Gauche Road closed Tuesday for filming of a movie featuring Hollywood A-lister Reese Witherspoon.
In the action comedy, called “Don’t Mess With Texas,” the Academy-award winning Witherspoon plays a police officer who is forced to go on the run with her prisoner, played by Sofia Vergara. Vergara has been nominated for two Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards for her work on ABC sitcom “Modern Family.”
Filming for the movie, which Witherspoon is also producing, marks a return to New Orleans for the actress, who was born at Southern Baptist Hospital in 1976.
The movie is scheduled for release in May, 2015.
