Murder suspect found hiding in Kenner apartment
A 35-year-old Boutte man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and another person injured early Friday morning.
The shooting occurred at 12:30 a.m. at Butt Cuts Bar, located on Joe Louis Lane in Hahnville. When St. Charles Parish sheriff’s deputies arrived at the bar they found 23-year-old David Scott, of Houston, Texas, lying dead on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds.
Another victim was shot in the foot and was treated and released from St. Charles Parish Hospital.
Officials with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office quickly named Larry Thompson, of 168 Boutte Estates Drive in Boutte, a suspect because he had gotten into an argument with Scott over a woman.
Thompson, who was hiding in a Kenner apartment, was arrested on Monday morning and is charged with second-degree murder and aggravated battery.
St. Charles Parish sheriff’s deputies tracked Thompson down with assistance from U.S. marshals.
