A Luling man accused of shooting a neighbor’s cat with a bow and arrow turned himself in Thursday on a warrant issued on the charge of cruelty to animals.
According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, on June 6th Dupre shot a neighbor’s cat with a bow and arrow after that cat was allegedly on his property.
“Max,” the approximately 9 month-old cat, was rushed to Riverlands Vet Clinic in LaPlace where they were able to remove the arrow and have kept him under medical supervision.
Dupre’s bond has been set at $30,000. He was released today by posting $1,000 cash and personal surety to a family member.
“Animal abuse will not be tolerated in St. Charles Parish. My office thoroughly investigates these cases and when warranted, abusers will be arrested”, said St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne.
