Four arrested in drug bust

Two small children found in home

On July 10, St. Charles Parish officers arrested four individuals on drug related charges after a search warrant was conducted at 111 Aqueduct Dr., in Montz.During the search, all subjects were found to be in  possession of illegal narcotics.  Officers also located two small children inside the residence at the time of entry.

Wendell Sanders, 29, of 111 Aqueduct Dr., Montz, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest by flight, resisting arrest by failure to identify, possession of narcotics in the presence of a minor and a warrant for probation and parole.

Andrew Sanders, 52, of 201 St. Claire, Carencro, was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of narcotics in the presence of a minor.

Iranikia Brown, 19, of 277 Homewood Pl., Reserve, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of narcotics in the presence of a minor.

Tamira Thiel, 39, of 139 Hollywood Pk., Montz, was arrested and charged  with possession of crack cocaine and possession of narcotics in the presence of a minor.

According to public information officer, Cpt. Pat Yoes, the arrest occurred in connection with a search warrant that was issued after the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office established probable cause from information they received regarding illegal activity.

Judge St. Pierre, of the 29th judicial district court, set bond at $60,000 for both Andrew Sanders and Thiel, and bond was set at $36,000 for Brown.

The judge set bond for Wendell Sanders at $95,000 for all charges except for the warrant for probation and parole.

Initially, Wendell Sanders did attempt to flee from authorities, however, he was apprehended and taken into custody by officers.  All subjects were arrested and booked accordingly.

The two children, ages 2-years-old and 11-months-old, were placed in the care of relatives.

At the time of press, all arrested subjects were still in jail.
