DHS graduate killed in wreck

A 2009 Destrehan High School graduate was killed when the car he was driving crashed into a concrete light pole in New Orleans.

Jeffrey Hebert, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene by local paramedics.

The accident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. at South Broad Street and Napoleon Avenue on Jan. 31.

According to investigators, Hebert was driving lakebound on Napoleon Avenue when he lost control of his Hyundai Accent and hit the light pole at South Broad Street.

Blood and alcohol tests are pending.
