A large room full of people, and those people sporting full bellies, was the result of a successful United Way Cook-Off event at Norco Manufacturing Complex.
Celebrity judges Deuce McCallister, Kristian Garic, T-Bob Hebert and St. Charles Parish’s CAO, Billy Raymond selected the best of the best from 17 competing teams. The first- and second- place winners will represent Norco Manufacturing Complex at the UW Battle for the Paddle on Oct. 6.
Winners are:
Gumbo – First place: Gumbeaux Du-eaux, Kurt Brignac and Ritney Bergeron; second place: Cast Iron Kings – Ray Richard, Tom Hopkins and Mike Fabre; third Place: Geaux Roux Gumbo Crew–Ivy Hymel, Mark Aubert, Keith Simon and Russel Braud.
Jambalaya – First place: Pot Lickers, Ronnie Trosclair, Lee Clement, Chad Raiford and Lyle Bourgeois; second place: The Kast Iron Krooks, Jay Alleman, Lonnie Boudreaux, Wade Spears and Gerard Borne; third Place: (TIE) The ENC’s – Laura Sabolyk, Daniel Nelson, Richard Hoagland and Michael McNally, and Hot Rod Joe and The Boys, Joe Waits, Gene Schexnaydre, Craig Calcagno and Trey Haydel.
