St. Rose students participate in CASA art contest

St. Rose Elementary School third grade students participated in an art contest held by Child Advocacy Services’ local CASA program. Each student was responsible for creating his or her own original drawing based on the topic, “How can you prevent child abuse.” Each student created his or her own drawings inspired by this topic.

The artwork was drawn using pencils, crayons and colored pencils. CASA invited three judges, Sara Miller, Sue Agnelly, and Trista Brazan, from the United Way agency to view and judge the finished artwork. The judges had a daunting task to choose 12 finalists that would be displayed in next year’s calendar.

One “overall” winner was chosen to be used for Child Advocacy Services’ “Child Sponsorship” poster. Erin Vinnett placed first overall in the contest. Her artwork will be used on CASA’s official Child Sponsorship poster.
