Second annual STEM Fair planned at St. Charles Parish Library

Entergy Waterford 3 and the St. Charles Parish Library are partnering again to present the Second Annual STEM Fair for all ages on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Regional Library, 160 W. Campus Dr. in Destrehan.

Many elements of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) are scheduled to be on display and available for hands-on experiences for people of all ages, from preschool to adults, throughout the library.

Volunteers from Entergy Waterford 3 will have activities and demonstrations in conjunction with Nuclear Science Week (Oct. 14 – 18) for attendees to learn more about energy and nuclear power.

The award-winning Destrehan and Hahnville high school robotics teams will demonstrate their creations and talk about their work.

Attendees will be able to put on a virtual reality headset and step into another world.

An interactive giant bubble area by Jennette Ginsburg of Hey Now Hooping will be outside.

The St. Charles Parish Library Planetarium will have space-themed activities and information.

Special science-themed story times will take place three times during the event.

Attendees will get a chance to see ice cream being made—with science.

Hands-On Science activities will be set up throughout the library.

A photo area with green screen technology will be available for unique photo opportunities.
