“Science Friday” hosted by New Life Community Church

New Life Community Church, the joint ministry of Luling United Methodist & First Union Presbyterian, recently hosted their first ever “Science Friday” event, which was attended by more than 30 children from the community.

The event included nine different science activity stations where the children performed an experiment or demonstration and then learned a bible lesson and prayer that went along with each activity.

Some of the activity stations included mixing baking soda and vinegar to fill a balloon with air, which included a lesson on being filled with the holy spirit, finding an object’s center of gravity, which included a lesson on allowing God to help find balance in the student’s lives. The event also included using salt and vinegar to make old copper pennies look shiny again, which included a lesson on shining for Jesus.
