When the driver of a rented Rolls Royce couldn’t keep on schedule and get Tiffanie Taylor of Luling to her wedding on time last November, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Sgt. Clyde Taylor, whose cruiser was one of two escorting the wedding party, stepped up
“When the driver of the Rolls Royce called and said that he was running late, Tiffanie asked Clyde if he could bring her,” says the bride’s mother, Vickie Taylor.
In a mirage of red and blue flashing lights and in the midst of screaming sirens, the sergeant drove Tiffanie, her brother Brennan, and her mom from Panther Drive in Destrehan over the Hale Boggs Bridge to First Baptist Church in Luling just in time to stand at the altar with her groom Nicholas Nave of Destrehan.
Tiffanie is pictured above in her wedding dress along side her brother in front of the police cruiser that escorted her.
Tiffanie’s mom says that her daughter majored in criminal justice in college and finds it ironic that she arrived to her wedding in a cop car and with one of St. Charles Parish’s finest, Clyde.
And this mom has some advice for others: “The next time you find yourself in an unusual predicament, just call the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Department, ask for help and you shall receive,” says Vickie.
Tiffanie is also the daughter of the late Charles M. “Mickey” Taylor.
