Orgeron named art director

Besides being a busy wife, a working mother of two kids and a St. Charles Parish community volunteer, Kristie Orgeron has been promoted to Art Director for the Louisiana Publishing Company in Boutte.

Orgeron is a graduate of Nicholls State University, and has been employed with the company for six and half years, serving as an overall graphic designer for both the Louisiana Sportsman magazine and the St. Charles Herald-Guide newspaper.

“I have a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences with a concentration in graphic design,” Orgeron said. “Initially, starting out I wanted to go into architecture, but Nicholls wasn’t offering the program anymore.”

As Creative Art Director, Orgeron will oversee a department of four employees charged with designing several magazines and the Herald-Guide.

“I will make recommendations or suggestions on improving things,” Orgeron said. “I will continue with my current responsibilities, which is doing layout and designing ads.”

During her off time, Orgeron teaches a religion class, is a St. Charles Parish Red Cross volunteer, is a member of a softball team in Jefferson Parish and serves as commissioner of elections.
