Knights of Columbus elect new officers

The Knight of Columbus St. Charles Council 2409 recently held its installation of officers and awards banquet.

The family of Kevin and Erica Robicheaux, along with their daughters, Amber and Amanda, was named Family of the Year and Charles “Chuck” Oubre was honored as Knight of the Year. Oubre was recognized for his work as the council’s financial secretary. The Robicheauxs received the award for the work with the council and their service to St. Anthony of Padua Church in Luling.

Also, Allen Thibodeaux was recognized as the outgoing Grand Knight for his two years of service.

Incoming officers for 2010-2011 are: Rev. John Finn, chaplain; Rennan Duffour, grand knight; Allen Thibodeaux, deputy grand knight; Melvin Burrell, chancellor; Bob Voros, warden; Harry Zeller Jr., treasurer; Charles Oubre III, financial secretary; Jerry Walker Jr., recorder; Bob Harrison, advocate; Patrick O’Malley, lecturer; Kevin Doherty, inside guard; Donnie White, outside guard; and Joe Bergeron Jr., Doug Becnel and Robert Lassere, trustees.

KC Council 2409 was first organized in 1922 and has been serving the Catholic parishes of St. John the Baptist in Paradis, St. Gertrude in Des Allemands, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Hahnville, St. Mark in Ama and St. Anthony of Padua in Luling.
