Book Talks in JulieAnna Smith’s reading class have begun. A book talk is where students speak with the intent to convince someone to read a book.
Following a book talk by Smith on The Hunger Games, Gracie Smith gave a book talk on Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. Pat Mora, founder of Children’s Day-Book Day has said, “when the young see their teacher excited about books that include families and homes like the students, they connect more deeply with themselves, with us, and with the text.”
