Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. proudly announced that Ms. Ama Nyeneba Sefah, of Hahnville High School, is the recipient of Upsilon Mu Zeta Chapter 2nd Annual College Book Stipend Award, ($500.00).
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Upsilon Mu Zeta Chapter recently awarded their 2nd Annual College Book Stipend Award. Applications for the award were mailed to all high schools in the St. James, St. Charles and St. John Parishes.
The College Book Stipend Award’s theme was “Current Achievers Become Future Leaders.” To qualify, 2010 graduating seniors submitted an essay on the theme, presented a self-portrait about educational goals and professional aspirations, stated how the award would assist in achieving their academic pursuits and planned to attend a four-year college or university in the fall of 2010.
Ms. Sefah demonstrated valuable skills, a strong commitment to academic excellence, scholarship, developed an appreciation for the Sciences and has been involved in the school, church, and local communities. Her GPA is 3.74.
She will attend Howard University in Washington, D.C. in the fall 2010 with aspiration to be an Obstetrician/Gynecologist.
In the River Parish Area, thirteen committed members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. envisioned implementing Zeta’s programs that provides volunteer-service, educate the public, assist youth, provide scholarships, support organized charities, and promote legislation for social and civic change. The Upsilon Mu Zeta Chapter is lead by the president, Gwendolyn F Darensburg and vice president, Belinda Rodgers.
