Financial assistance available for East Bank residents

Emergency Food and Shelter Federal Funds are now available for the East Bank residents of St. Charles Parish to assist in paying utility bills, mortgage or rent.

Eligible residents who meet the following criteria may qualify:

•Must be facing an emergency crisis, such as loss of income due to illness, reduction of work ours, etc. and

•Must be a resident of St. Charles Parish.

Applicants must provide the following documentation at the time the application is taken: Social Security numbers of each family member, proof of income of all household members, a photo ID of the applicant, and documentation showing residence. If it is determined that additional documentation is required, applicants will be notified at the time of application.

All residents qualifying for utility assistance must provide their current bill and/or disconnect notice. All residents qualifying for mortgage or rent assistance must provide a past due, foreclosure and/or eviction notice.
