Kali Ann Boudreaux, daughter of Danny and Edna Boudreaux of Raceland, Louisiana, was married to Mr. Blake Matthew Zammit, son of Eric Zammit of River Ridge, Louisiana and Mrs. Candis Patecek of Luling, Louisiana in a 7 p.m. ceremony on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland. Reverend Dean Danos officiated at the double-ring ceremony in which the bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride is a graduate of Central Lafourche High School in Raceland, Louisiana and Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. She works for the LSU AgCenter of St. Charles Parish as a 4-H Extension Agent. She is a member of the Louisiana Association of Extension 4-H Agents and the Nicholls State University Alumni Association and will be attending Louisiana State University for her master’s degree in the fall.
Kali is the granddaughter of Lawrence and Joyce Bonvillain of Larose, and the late Mabel Adams Boudreaux of Raceland, Louisiana.
Blake Matthew Zammit is the grandson of WF George and the late Mrs. Ruth Sapia George of Luling and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Zammit of Luling. He is a graduate of Hahnville High School and Nicholls State University. He is employed by Coastal Gulf International in Luling.
Derek Boudreaux, brother of the bride, was the Man of Honor, wearing a black Chaps Hudson tuxedo with a silver vest. Bridesmaids wore a charcoal chiffon halter dress by Alfred Angelo. Bridesmaids included Jamie Zammit of Luling, Lindsey Matherne of Raceland, Helana Bourg of Thibodaux, Amy Gautreaux of Lockport, Randi Lynn George of Mangham, and Megan Barrios of Larose. The flower girl was Emma Zammit of Luling, wearing a beaded white dress from David’s Bridal.
The groom was attended by the Best Man, Eric Zammit, Jr. of Luling, and groomsmen Jake Boudreaux of Raceland, Chris Badeaux of Luling, Chris McKeown of Kenner, Todd Page of Slidell, and Ivan Rodas of River Ridge. Peyton Bonvillain of Austin, Texas served as the ring bearer. Ross Guidry of Larose and Eric Landry of Hammond served as ushers.
Readers were Wanda Berry of Luling, Laurie Naquin of Lockport, Debbie Dampier of Belle Chasse, and Lawrence Bonvillain III of Austin, Texas.
Ceremonial music was provided by vocalist Hannah Arceneaux of Lockport, Louisiana. Connie Thibodaux of Bayou Blue created the floral arrangements.
The bride wore an A-line, strapless, sweetheart cut, chiffon gown with a corset back and beaded neckline designed by Mori Lee. Her veil was trimmed in crystals. She carried an arrangement of white lilies, calla lilies, roses, and hydranias. In her bridal bouquet, the bride carried a crystal rosary from her great-grandmother and a blue sapphire ring, the first piece of jewelry that her father gave her mother.
A reception followed the ceremony at the Nicholls State University Cotillion Ballroom in Thibodaux, Louisiana, the place where the couple first met. Wedding guests enjoyed dinner and dancing beneath the exclusively designed decorations, constructed by the father of the bride, which consisted of magnificent cascading voile ceiling draperies filled with lights drawn together by a chandelier.
Guests also enjoyed cake made by Caro’s Cakes of Houma. The wedding cake was specially designed by the bride to compliment the elegant reception decorations and emphasized the couple’s initials as a cake topper. The groom’s cake featured luxurious chocolate covered strawberries, which was accompanied by boxing gloves and a “Rocky” movie poster to highlight a favorite champion of the groom.
Following a wedding trip to Colorado, the couple will reside in Raceland.
