The Time Keeper, written by Mitch Albom, tells the story of Dor, the first human on Earth to count items, particularly time.
Dor first begins to count things at a very young age. Dor eventually learns how to keep track of time, and he becomes imprisoned to be Father Time. He is forced to live a life watching millenniums of people abusing time. He is told he will not be released until he helps two people, a specific two that fate will show him. Meanwhile, throughout Dor’s story, Sarah and Victor’s stories are interwoven. One of them does not have enough time, while the other one has too much. It is Dor’s job to show them the value of time but will he succeed and save what is left of their time of Earth?
I thoroughly enjoyed The Time Keeper. I liked how three people’s stories were told throughout, and at the end, they all connected together. I would recommend this book to anyone who is always racing against time; it gives a new perspective on the purpose of time.
