Book Review: “Something Borrowed”

Reviewed by Elise DeBruler

“Something Borrowed” is a flirty novel written by Emily Giffin.

In the book, Rachel, a successful lawyer in New York City, is the complete “good girl.”

However, that suddenly changes the night of her thirtieth birthday party when she over-drinks and decides to go home with Dex, who is the fiancé of her best friend, Darcy.

That night, Rachel and Dex confess their feelings towards each other, and they are both horrified and excited that they feel the same way.

Rachel and Dex spend numerous weekends “working” as Darcy, spends time at the Hamptons preparing for the wedding.
As the wedding date draws closer, Rachel must make the decision between her best friend, who can be a bit manipulating at times, or her true love.

Throughout the novel, Rachel begins to learn the value of true friendship and the meaning of love.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Something Borrowed” and would highly recommend it for anyone in need of a good laugh.
