Book Review: “Something Borrowed”

The New York Times best-seller “Something Borrowed” by Emily Giffin is a romantic, hysterical novel.

This book is set in the 21st century in Manhattan, N.Y.

While the main characters are all living in the city together, some complicated love triangles begin to form making friendships and relationships untenable.

Rachel White and Darcy Rhone have been best friends since age five.

Rachel always seems to be in Darcy’s shadow because of how self-absorbed Darcy can be.

On Rachel’s 30th birthday, Rachel and Dex Thaler, Darcy’s fiancé, end up leaving the party together.

After Rachel and Dex spend the night together, they decide to start a real relationship behind Darcy’s back.

Throughout the book, they continue to keep this relationship a secret until the last chapter when a shocking twist is revealed.

I really enjoyed reading “Something Borrowed” by Emily Giffin. This book would be enjoyed by teenage girls and women because of the connection that most girls have to the two main characters.

I give two thumbs up to this hilarious and girly novel.
