In an effort to bring a message of change all across the country, Barak Obama has continued to do well in the presidential primary, perhaps a sign of history in the making. He’s winning in states like Mississippi, and other sections of the country that might have seemed unlikely to some people.
And although bloggers on local news forums have criticized Obama, he defeated Hillary Clinton in St. Charles Parish too.
Clinton had 1,558 votes parishwide and Obama scored big with 2,594 people supporting his message of hope, change and prosperity for citizens all across the country. Louisiannians supported him too, earning him a total of nine delegates, and 57 percent of the vote.
Though no one is certain who the democratic nominee will be yet, Obama’s message of change is clear and so far it’s been successful.
Obama, whether he is left the victor at the end of this campaign or not has left us with some wisdom and words.
“Well I’m not running for President to conform to this conventional thinking – I’m running to challenge it,” he said. “There is too much at stake. Too much at stake for the family that can’t get ahead; the elderly worker who faces a retirement filled with worry; the kid who doesn’t believe America has a place for her dreams. To stand up for these Americans, I don’t want to settle for anything less than real change.”
