Slow-cooking seminar at Destrehan Plantation

DESTREHAN – Destrehan Plantation will present its first culinary seminar on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Entitled “Slow and Low, Then and Now,” the seminar presents the art of slow cooking with open hearth cooking and with electric slow cookers.

Dr. Martin “Doc” Spindel will present the seminar followed by a cooking demonstration by Michael Ledet, author of the “Joe Simmer” series of cookbooks.

Cookbooks will be on sale and lunch will be served.
Advance tickets are available for $25. This includes the seminar, lunch and a tour of the plantation.
